FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS

FDC Assault Advisories | January 29 – February 4, 2020

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Taylor Annex: On January 29, Inmate Bakari Henderson (P01689) assaulted an officer by scratching their wrist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Lancaster Correctional Institution: On January 30, Inmate Ron Olney (U11930) assaulted an officer by elbowing them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Walton Correctional Institution: On January 30, Inmate Melvin Simmons (V21021) assaulted an officer by grabbing their fingers and bending them backwards. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Central Florida Reception Center: On January 31, Inmate Quentin Hargrove (T92776) assaulted officers by striking them in the face with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Florida Women’s Reception Center: On January 31, Inmate Amber Hamilton (157025) assaulted an officer by kicking, hitting and scratching them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On January 31, Inmate Zachary Gonnelli (E31128) assaulted an officer by headbutting them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Sumter Work Camp: On February 1, Inmate Calvin McCullough (750290) assaulted an officer by striking them in the shoulder. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Taylor Correctional Institution: On February 2, Inmate Julian Jordan (J01794) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Lake Correctional Institution: On February 4, Inmate Anthony Williams (M05140) assaulted an officer by grabbing them and flipping them onto the floor. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Desoto Annex: On February 4, Inmate Charles Hines (134634) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the chest and striking them with a closed fist multiple times. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Taylor Annex: On February 4, Inmate Taylor Foster (C11280) assaulted officers by striking them in the face with a closed fist and headbutting them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
