FDC Assault Advisories | July 6 – July 12, 2021

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On July 7, Inmate Johnny Burgess (U05762) assaulted an officer by striking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Jackson Correctional Institution: On July 8, Inmate Abimelec Castellano (R85797) assaulted an officer by kicking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Jackson Correctional Institution: On July 8, Inmate Demhar Graham (C08874) assaulted an officer by striking them with a food tray. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Tomoka Correctional Institution: On July 8, Inmate Arnell Lee (128862) assaulted an officer by attacking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Suwannee Correctional Institution: On July 9, Inmate David Payrits (D71092) assaulted an officer by punching them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Apalachee Correctional Institution: On July 10, Inmate Ira Jenkins (R22249) assaulted an officer by punching and kicking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Taylor Correctional Institution: On July 12, Inmate Amos Pinder (U09836) assaulted an officer by punching them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
