FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS

FDC Assault Advisories | February 8 – 14, 2023

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Apalachee Correctional Institution: On February 8, Inmate Kenneth Ford (167315) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Okaloosa Correctional Institution: On February 8, Inmate Rodney Dubois (K40976) assaulted officers by striking them in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries.

Liberty Correctional Institution: On February 8, Inmate Logan Fairbanks (G40172) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Lake Correctional Institution: On February 8, Inmate Fernandito Carpio (X81705) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Mayo Correctional Institution Annex: On February 9, Inmate Alfee Gatlin (432145) assaulted a staff member. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On February 9, Inmate Edward Brown (M57932) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On February 1, Inmate Tyshaun Pope (N32235) assaulted officers by striking them in their heads and arms. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Medical staff recommended the officers receive outside medical treatment.

Santa Rosa Annex: On February 10, Inmate Kanielas Byrd (Y41674) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Columbia Annex: On February 10, Inmate Kenneth Cross (185592) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

DeSoto Annex: On February 10, Inmate Nolan Riel (E70857) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On February 12, Inmate Chase McGuire (B13251) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Union Correctional Institution: On February 13, Inmate Christopher Tipton (W23486) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Walton Correctional Institution: On February 14, Inmate Courtland Douglin (T72921) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On February 14, Inmate Johnathon Aguirre (J56176) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Century Correctional Institution: On February 14, Inmate Victor McFadden (D70495) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
