Florida State Prison Hosts Technical College Program Graduation
- Media are invited to attend a graduation ceremony for 16 inmates who have successfully completed the State Contracted Electrical Program. This 750-hour program is made possible through a partnership between Florida Department of Corrections and North Florida Technical College. Graduation ceremonies are held in a traditional graduation setting with certificates awarded to inmates as they make their way across the stage to be congratulated by department and college representatives.
- Through Career and Technical Education programs, FDC and their partners equip inmates with competencies directed at employability, successful rehabilitation and successful social reintegration. Media attendees will have an opportunity to film/photograph during the event and interview FDC program staff, inmate graduates, college representatives and consenting guests, family and friends.
- FDC program staff and institution leadership will be present at the event along with leadership representatives from the North Florida Technical College.
- Thursday, January 30 at 9:00 a.m.
Media will need to arrive no later than 8:15 a.m. for processing through security.
