Visitor Contraband Interdiction | December 8 – 14, 2022

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Desoto Annex: On December 10, staff witness a visitor pass an inmate a package which contained 23 grams of marijuana while inside the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Tomoka Correctional Institution: On December 11, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 20 strips of suboxone, 1 gram of THC oil and 6 THC gummies outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Reception & Medical Center: On December 11, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 71.9 grams of marijuana outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Walton Correctional Institution: On December 11, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 43.3 grams of methamphetamine, 4 strips of suboxone, 54.5 grams of bath salts, and 27 grams of Marijuana during a pat search. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested.
