Visitor Contraband Interdiction | December 15 – 21, 2022

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Lowell Correctional Institution: On December 17, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 150 strips of suboxone and 2 bags of an unknown substance during a pat search. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested.

Suwannee Annex: On December 17, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 66.6 grams of bath salts and 15 pills of ecstasy outside the institution. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested.

Apalachee Correctional Institution: On December 17, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 4 grams of methamphetamines and 36 pieces of drug paraphernalia outside the institution. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested.

Calhoun Correctional Institution: On December 18, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 26 grams of marijuana outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.
