Florida Department of Corrections to Honor Fallen at Wakulla CI

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida Department of Corrections Secretary Ricky Dixon and Department leadership will honor fallen correctional officers and employees during the Department’s annual memorial ceremony at Wakulla Correctional Institution.

WHAT:

Wardens and staff from respective institutions will join the friends and family of fallen members of FDC who lost their lives while in service to the state. Attendees will pay their respect in honor of the fallen for their service and provided a special presentation to the families.

Secretary Dixon and FDC leadership will also lay a wreath at the memorial in honor of staff recognized during the event and for those who died before them. The names of each individual will be engraved upon the Fallen Officer Memorial located at the Harry K. Singletary, Jr. Training Center at Wakulla CI.
