FDC Staff Receive Awards at Annual FGIA Conference

Orlando, Fla. — The Florida Gang Investigators Association (FGIA) recently held its annual conference in Orlando with participants from various county, state, and federal agencies in attendance. FDC is honored to announce awards received in the following categories:

2021 FGIA President’s Award: Christie Dolan, FDC Bureau of Intelligence. Ms. Dolan joined FDC in 2003 as a correctional officer at Apalachee Correctional Institution (CI) where she served in various capacities before going to the Office of Intelligence. In 2019, Dolan was promoted to her role of Government Analyst where she has represented FDC as a subject matter expert to the nation’s intelligence community by informing on the role of intelligence in corrections.

Corrections Security Threat Intelligence Unit of the Year: Jeffrey Bertera, Correctional Services Administrator, Carter Hickman, Correctional Services Consultant, Christie Dolan, Government Analyst, Robert Crow, Criminal Justice Information Analyst, and Shannon Colston, Crime Intelligence Analyst. FDC’s Bureau of Intelligence mission is to provide timely, relevant, accurate, and synchronized intelligence to internal leadership in addition to state and national intelligence communities.

Security Threat Investigator of the Year 2021: Sergeant William Hopkins from Santa Rosa CI. Sgt. Hopkins joined FDC as a Correctional Officer at Santa Rosa C.I. in 2006 where he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Through Sgt. Hopkins’ efforts Santa Rosa C.I.’s Security Threat program has become a leader and is one of the most efficiently managed facilities in the agency.
