Historical Information:
This facility was established in 1959 and was designated as Florida Correctional Institution Men's Unit designed as a support unit for Florida C.I.-Main Unit, a female facility. In 1976 it became a separate facility to house 1,051 adult male inmates named Marion C.I. In 1998 it was combined with Florida C.I. In 1999 it was renamed Lowell C.I./Men's Unit and in 2000 to Marion C.I. Marion Work Camp and Reentry of Ocala WRC are under the supervision of Marion C.I.
