Historical Information:
This facility was established in 1965 to house minimum and medium custody youthful offender male inmates. Currently it houses adult male inmates. Sumter Boot Camp, which houses youthful offender male inmates, Sumter Forestry Camp, and Sumter Work Camp are under the supervision of Sumter C.I.
