Historical Information:This facility was established in 1965 to house minimum and medium custody youthful offender male inmates. Currently it houses adults and youthful offender male inmates. Sumter Basic Training Unit, which houses youthful offender male inmates, and Sumter Work Camp are under the supervision of Sumter C.I.
