Mission Statement

The Department of Corrections protects the public by operating safe, secure, humane, and efficient prison and community corrections systems in accordance with statutory and constitutional mandates. The agency provided offenders under its jurisdiction with opportunities to become productive, law-abiding citizens while ensuring that victims and stakeholders are treated with dignity, respect, and sensitivity.
