Community Supervision/Population
Average Sentence Length for those on Community Supervision on June 30 is 3.9 Years
- The majority (65.9%) of those on community supervision on June 30, 2003 were serving sentences of three years or less.
- The average sentence length for all those on community supervision on June 30, 2003 was 3.9 years, the same as last year.
- Those on parole on June 30, 2003 were serving an average sentence length of 19.9 years while those on pretrial intervention were serving an average of 1.5 years.
- Over the past seven years, the average sentence lengths of male and female offenders on community supervision have remained similar. On June 30, 2003, male offenders were serving an average of 4.0 years and women 3.4 years, figures slightly less than those for June 30, 1996 (4.1 and 3.5 years).
