Community Supervision Admissions

Total Prior Commitments by Type of Supervision


Probation: 68,102

More than half (58.2%) of those admitted to community supervision in FY 2007-08 and placed on probation had no prior commitments to either prison or supervision.
Prior Supervision Only (25.7%), No Prior Commitments(58.2%), Prior Prison and Supervision (12.8%), Prior Prison Only (3.3%)


Drug Offender Probation: 12,174

Of those admitted to Drug Offender probation in FY 2007-08, most had no prior commitments (41.6%), followed by prior supervision commitments only (40.0%).
No Prior Commitments (41.6%), Prior Supervision Only (40.0%), Both Prior Prison and Supervision (16.7%), Prior Prison Only (1.7%)


Community Control: 8,277

Almost half (46.8%) of the offenders admitted to community supervision in FY 2007-08 and placed on community control had prior commitments to supervision only.
No Prior Commitments (33.7%), Prior Supervision Only (46.8%), Both Prior Prison and Supervision (17.3%), Prior Prison Only (2.2%)
