  • The pie chart below shows that of those inmates receiving Substance Abuse treatment in FY 2008-2009, 52.3% received Modality 1 (outpatient) treatment.

* Another 39,361 inmates in FY 2008-09 received Substance Abuse Services in the form of the Drug Simple Screening Instrument (DSSI) given at Admission. Also, another 3,839 inmates participated in Readiness/Alumni/Prevention services. 


  • Per the pie chart below, 65.1% (65,706) of total inmate population (100,894) on June 30, 2009 have been consistently screened to be in need of substance abuse treatment services.

  • Approximately 2,010 substance abuse treatment slots were available on June 30, 2009.
