Community Supervision Admissions

Total Prior Commitments by Type of Supervision


Probation: 58,805

More than half (57.3%) of those admitted to community supervision in FY 2009-10 and placed on probation had no prior commitments to either prison or supervision.
Prior Supervision Only (25.7%), No Prior Commitments(58.2%), Prior Prison and Supervision (12.8%), Prior Prison Only (3.3%)

Drug Offender Probation: 9,928

Of those admitted to Drug Offender probation in FY 2009-10, most had no prior commitments (43.1%), followed by prior supervision commitments only (38.1%).
No Prior Commitments (43.1%), Prior Supervision Only (38.1%), Both Prior Prison and Supervision (16.5%), Prior Prison Only (2.2%)

Community Control: 7,885

Over three-fourths (77.8%) of the offenders admitted to community supervision in FY 2009-10 and placed on community control had either no prior commitments or prior commitments to supervision only.
No Prior Commitments (32.9%), Prior Supervision Only (44.9%), Both Prior Prison and Supervision (18.6%), Prior Prison Only (3.5%)
