Community Supervision Population

Total Prior Commitments by Type of Supervision

Probation: 111,083

Probation is the single largest category of community supervision, comprising 72.7% of all offenders on supervision. Three-fifths (60.1%) of those on community supervision on June 30, 2010 for probation had no prior commitments to either state prison in Florida or state supervision in Florida.

No Prior Commitments: 62.3% | Prior Supervision Only: 24.8% | Both Prior Prison and Supervision: 10.7% | Prior Prison Only: 2.2%


Drug Offender Probation: 16,607

Of those offenders on Drug Offender probation on June 30, 2010, almost half of the offenders had no prior commitments (47.8%) compared to about a third who had prior supervision only commitments (36.6%).

No Prior Commitments: 47.8% | Prior Supervision Only: 36.6% | Both Prior Prison and Supervision: 14.1% | Prior Prison Only: 1.5%


Community Control: 10,705

Of the offenders on community control on June 30, 2010 39.3% had prior commitments of the supervision type only, and also 42.9% had no prior supervision or prior Florida state prison commitments.

No Prior Commitments: 42.9% | Prior Supervision Only: 39.3% | Both Prior Prison and Supervision: 15.8% | Prior Prison Only: 2%
