Community Supervision Population

Felony Probation Most Common Type of Supervision

Those serving an "original sentence" (96.2% of the total supervision population on June 30, 2013) were sentenced directly to community supervision, whereas those who came to supervision as a "post-prison release" (only 3.8%) came to supervision directly from serving a prison sentence.

  • The majority (71.1%) of offenders serving an original sentence on community supervision on June 30, 2013 were serving felony probation.
  • The majority of those on post-prison supervision on June 30, 2013 were serving conditional release (2.2%) or parole (1.3%) terms.
