Information

The Bureau of Specialized Institutional Services is responsible for a variety of programs and services designed for specific inmate populations, including: 12 hours of planned program activity a day for offenders who are 24 years of age and under at designated youthful offender facilities; a 120-day basic training program that teaches discipline and responsibility to both male and female offenders before a sentence modification and release to probation by the sentencing court; court-ordered juvenile diversion program that tours prisons; female offender program featuring parenting, domestic violence, and family development classes; and the volunteers and interns program.
