Florida Department of Corrections
Timothy H. Cannon, Interim Secretary

Office of Administration

The office of administration is responsible for budget, accounting and procurement services. This office oversees construction and maintenance of prisons; feeding of the inmate population along with food production, managing human resources, staff training, research and data analysis and the agency's mainframe and personal computer systems.

This year we revamped and enhanced our system-wide technology. This included information technology, critical to the management of the department, including problem-free transition to the year 2000 following three years of testing and preparation of all mainframe, midrange and microcomputer programs, operating systems, utilities and equipment.

We implemented vital operational systems such as those for victim information (VINE), inmate and community corrections web sites, One Florida reporting, inmate records imaging system, inmate risk and needs, custody and reclassification, court ordered payments, photo ID and data to other agencies including the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
