Survey Question #3

On a scale of 1-6 with 6 being the most effective and 1 being the least effective, how would you rate the following programs in their help in your institutional adjustment?

The following chart reflects the answers. Three hundred sixty-six (81%) of the inmates rated chapel programs and of these, 246 of them (67%) gave the chapel programs a top rating of “6.” The overall chapel rating was “5.3.” Many of these inmates were also involved in other programming and rated their involvement as an important factor in their improved behavior. Inmates most frequently identified the chapel programs as the most effective influence for improved behavior.

3In survey question #1, 342 inmates scored “Chapel/Religious Programs” as programs that the inmate participated in. In question #3, 366 inmates rated the “Chapel/Religious Programs” according to effectiveness in the inmate’s personal institutional adjustment. The greater number for question #3 indicates inmates who, though they admitted they did not participate in the “Chapel/Religious Programs,” rated these programs anyway.
