Apalachee CI/River Junction Work Camp made a few children happier this Christmas.
The inmates from River Junction Work Camp under the supervision of Officer
Bonnie Jones collected broken, rusted, and unusable bicycles and wagons from
the community and restored them to look like new bicycles. The Sneads Police
Department assisted in the program by collecting monetary donations and bicycles.
There were approximately one hundred thirteen (113) bicycles restored and will
be given to the children in the community. The names of the children that received
the bicycles were taken from a list of children submitted by staff who knew of
the families that needed a little extra help this year in making Christmas
a joyous day. The inmates put a lot of time and care in restoring the bicycles
for the children in hopes that it would brighten their Christmas Day.
