Secretary's Message
My family and I extend to all of you our deepest appreciation for the job you do and our hope for a bright future for each of you in the coming year. The spirit of the season is one of hope, charity and goodwill, universal qualities that people of all faiths embrace and respect.
Department of Corrections employees are always quick to open their hearts on behalf of the less fortunate. The spirit of giving that permeates this season is especially poignant this year, with so many Floridians homeless and so many others serving in Iraq. We should take a moment during the holidays to pause and remember our brave soldiers overseas and pray for their safe and speedy return.
This is also the season of family. Most of us spend more time with family members during this season than any other time during the year.
Governor and Mrs. Bush are advocates of strong families. The Governor's Strengthening Family Initiatives provides a valuable on-line resource for advice and inspiration for all families called The Family Minute. You can sign up for this service by visiting www.familyfirst.net/ famminute/signup.asp
Best wishes to you all.
Secretary Crosby
