Fun for the Children at Lancaster CI
The Lancaster CI Employee's Club sponsored a Christmas party for the children of staff members on December 20, 2004. Festive decorations were everywhere. Each child had an opportunity to talk with Santa Claus and also received a gift bag. Great food was enjoyed by parents and children alike.

Region IV Hurricane Relief Benefit Golf Tournament

Hendry CI hosted the First Annual Region IV Director and Wardens Hurricane Benefit Golf Tournament on Friday, November 19, 2004 at the beautiful Majestic Golf Club in Lehigh Acres. All proceeds from this event were donated to the Region IV Hurricane Relief Fund to assist those staff in Region IV who were most affected by the hurricanes this past year.
With sixty-four (64) golfers in attendance from all areas and most of the institutions of Region IV, the event was a huge success. We were honored to have the Region IV Director of Institutions, Marta Villacorta and several of the wardens from Region IV attend and support this event. We sincerely appreciate all of the support received from the staff of Region IV Institutions and the gracious support we received from the community. The tournament received a host of hole sponsorships from businesses in the Hendry area and several others donated a vast array of nice door prizes to support the event. We also held an auction with donated items to end the day and to add to the relief fund. A 50-50 drawing was also held. The $290 half of the prize was won by Inspector Brent Kent of Charlotte Correctional Institution. Inspector Kent graciously donated $100 of the prize money back to the tournament to help add on to the proceeds.

All in all it was a beautiful day where the staff of Region IV came together to have loads of fun and support the worthiest cause of all our staff and their assistance in time of greatest need.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make this event a success. We were able to raise a grand total of $6544.00 in this effort to help our staff affected by the hurricanes.
We are planning the Second Annual Tournament for the Spring of 2005.
