Stress

Exercise has the therapeutic ability to bring balance back to your life. Exercise strengthens the heart which helps it to beat slower and better handle stress. Life is always changing; occupations changes and new families can, at times, create a very stressful environment. But through the use of exercise you can lower stress levels. According to Kansas State University physical education and leisure studies Professor Karla Kubitz, exercise helps people cope better with stress, especially psychological stress. People who exercise regularly recover from most stressful situations and they also respond better.

Make the most of the weekend

When you exercise on a regular basis you are able to better handle stress. According to Kubitz, people who only exercise on the weekends or sporadically can also cope better with stress than people who do not exercise at all. She says even with a little exercise people are at least using the response system. Which gives the body a chance to "clean out the pipes". Simple exercise strengthens the heart, which in turn helps the heart to beat slow and better able to handle stress.

I also would like to add that if you are one of our female staff and you have been putting off getting a check-up or mammogram, don't let this "season" pass without scheduling a visit to your physician. While not as significant in numbers, male cases of breast cancer can be just as devastating if not attended to. So take the time to ponder these articles and please be vigilant in your pursuit of good health. The hot line listed below is associated with the Y-Me National Breast Cancer Organization. Their web site address is: www.y-me.org. Check this site out, there are some very good links and information.
