Of Note this Month...

• In 2002, the Corrections Foundation provided financial assistance to 156 DC employees totalling $268,400. Currently, 9,832 DC employees are members of the Corrections Foundation.
• DC losing two of its brightest stars: Bob Porter, the "Dick Clark" of Corrections and Bureau Chief of Interstate Compact, is retiring after 45 years of exemplary service, as is Jerry Vaughan, Assistant Secretary of Institutions, a relative newcomer compared to Bob with a mere 34 years of service. Both these gentlemen contributed not only to the professionalism of this Department, but they made coming to work more enjoyable and interesting. We'll miss you both.
