Offenders on Supervision
On May 31, 2003, there were 152,815 active or active-
suspense
offenders on community supervision.
Types of Supervision (May 31, 2003)
| Probation | 126,873 | 83.0% |
| Community Control | 12,427 | 8.2% |
| Pre-Trial Intervention | 8,006 | 5.2% |
| Post Prison Release | 5,501 | 3.6% |
| Other | 8 | 0.0% |
| Total | 152,815 | 100.0% |
The majority of those on supervision in May were convicted of a property (35.0%) or violent (27.4%) offense.
In May:
- 8,237 offenders were admitted to supervision
- 2,376 successfully completed their supervision
- 4,035 had supervision revoked for a new offense (30.6%) or technical violation (69.4%)
