On May 31, 2003, there were 152,815 active or active-
suspense offenders on community supervision.


Types of Supervision (May 31, 2003)

Probation 126,873 83.0%
Community Control 12,427 8.2%
Pre-Trial Intervention 8,006 5.2%
Post Prison Release 5,501 3.6%
Other 8 0.0%
Total 152,815 100.0%


The majority of those on supervision in May were convicted of a property (35.0%) or violent (27.4%) offense.

In May:

  • 8,237 offenders were admitted to supervision
  • 2,376 successfully completed their supervision
  • 4,035 had supervision revoked for a new offense (30.6%) or technical violation (69.4%)
