Offenders on Supervision

On June 30, 2003, there were 152,975 active or active-
suspense offenders on community supervision.


Types of Supervision (June 30, 2003)

Probation 127,117 83.1%
Community Control 12,327 8.1%
Pre-Trial Intervention 7,991 5.2%
Post Prison Release 5,532 3.6%
Other 8 0.0%
Total 152,975 100.0%


The majority of those on supervision in June were convicted of a property (34.9%) or violent (27.3%) offense.

In June:

  • 7,940 offenders were admitted to supervision
  • 2,144 successfully completed their supervision
  • 3,803 had supervision revoked for a new offense (30.1%) or technical violation (69.9%)
