Time Served

• Inmates released from prison in June 2003 served an average of 84.5% of their sentences.
  
  
• 1,881 (83.4%) of the inmates released in June 2003 had one or more sentences that fell under the minimum 85% of sentence served law.

Older Inmates

• There were 7,691 inmates age 50 or older in prison on June 30, 2003. This is an increase of 12.2% since last year (6,852 inmates on June 30, 2002).

Escapes

• The last escape from a secure perimeter was in April 2000. No inmate has escaped from a fenced, secured perimeter for more than three years.
