Offenders on Supervision

On August 31, 2003, there were 152,621 active or active-suspense offenders on community supervision.


Types of Supervision (August 31, 2003)

Probation 126,703 83.0%
Community Control 12,386 8.1%
Pre-Trial Intervention 7,949 5.2%
Post Prison Release 5,576 3.7%

Total 152,621 100.0%


The majority of those on supervision in August were convicted of a property (34.9%) or violent (27.3%) offense.

In August:

  • 8,311 offenders were admitted to supervision
  • 2,354 successfully completed their supervision
  • 3,790 had supervision revoked for a new offense (31.7%) or technical violation (68.3%)
