This section provides information on how well offenders completed their supervision / monitoring.
Table 3A: Placements in FY 2000-01, Outcomes through 1 Year
- The percent of total revocations for Community Control (31.4%) is substantially higher than the percent for Radio Frequency (RF) monitoring (11.1%) or Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) monitoring (19.6%).
- The highest rate of successful completion (24.3%) comes from those placed on Radio Frequency (RF) monitoring.
- Almost all (81.8%) of the revocations for Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) monitoring are for technical violations.
- The percent of offenders absconding within one year of placement was greatest for those on Community Control (4.9%).
- Overall, nearly one-quarter (21.4%) of offenders were still active after one year, with Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) monitoring having the highest percent (25.3%).

- More Sex offenders (14.3%) were changed to Radio Frequency (RF) or Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) monitoring (3.3%, 11.4%) than other offenders (1.2%, 1.2%).

- The lowest successful completion rates within one year were among offenders in the Violent Offense Group (19.7%).
- 10.2% of offenders in the Violent Offense Group were changed to Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) monitoring.
- One quarter (25.3%) of offenders on Radio Frequency (RF) monitoring received a reduced sentence within one year of placement.

- The most common outcome for sex offenders after one year is still active (36.3%).
- There is a smaller percentage of revocations for sex offenders (16.4%) than for other offenders (21.9%), however, the majority of all revocations are for technical violations.

- The revocation percent was much lower for Radio Frequency (RF) monitoring (13.3%) than for Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) monitoring (28.6%) or Community Control (42.0%).
- A higher percentage successfully completed Radio Frequency (RF) monitoring (24.9%) within 2 years of placement than completed Community Control (5.7%) or Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) monitoring (12.5%).
- The rate of absconding after 2 years was lowest for Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) monitoring (0.8%), compared to Community Control (3.0%) and Radio Frequency (RF) monitoring (2.0%).
