TABLE 2A: Intensive Outpatient Modality 1 Program Enrollment Data, By Fiscal Year
- During the ten-year period covered by this report, 24,874 different inmates participated in Modality 1 programming.
- On June 30, 2003, there were only 236 inmates enrolled in Modality 1 programming.
- The significant decrease in the number of different inmates that enrolled in Modality 1 programming during FY 2002-03, reflects the full impact of reduced funding for institutional substance abuse programs that began during FY 2001-02.
TABLE 2B: FY 2002-03 Intensive Outpatient Modality 1 Program Enrollment Data, By Facility
- In FY 2002-03, 871 different inmates participated in Modality 1 programming.
- There was little difference between the three programs located at major institutions, in terms of the number of new enrollments. Walton Work Camp was the smallest program.
Outcomes
TABLE 2C(1): Intensive Outpatient (Modality 1) Program Outcomes By Fiscal Year Of First Enrollment, By Inmate (3-YEAR FOLLW-UP)
- Based on a 3-year follow-up after initial program entry, there were 18,509 program exits.
- During the 8-year period covered in this table, there were approximately three and one-half times as many successful exits as unsuccessful exits (54.8% vs. 14.9%).
TABLE 2C(2): Intensive Outpatient (Modality 1) Program Outcomes By Fiscal Year Of First Enrollment, By Inmate (2-YEAR FOLLOW-UP)
- For FY 2000-01 (2-Year Follow-up), the success rate was 91.9%.
TABLE 2D: FY 2002-03 Intensive Outpatient Modality 1 Exit Data (Event-Based), By Facility
- Of the three 70-slot programs, the program with the highest success rate (Wakulla CI) also had the highest percentage of administrative exits.
- The smallest program, located at a work camp, had the lowest percentage (15%) of successful exits and the highest percentage of administrative exits (85%), but the highest success rate (100%).

TABLE 2E: FY 2000-01 (2-Year Follow-Up), Intensive Outpatient Modality 1 Recommitment Data, by Level of Participation
