What started out as a friendly competition between Warden Palmer and I, developed into a lifeline for many within our community. Until I reviewed the attached letter I had no idea that 193 units of blood could affect the lives of 579 people. The unique thing about donating blood is you never know who the recipient will be. A complete stranger could benefit or a loved one, there simply is no way to tell at the time of the donation.
