Bureau of Policy Management & Inmate Appeals

The bureau of Policy Management and Inmate Appeals is dedicated to carrying out the Florida Department of Corrections' missions which states: "To protect the public safety, to ensure the safety of Department personnel, and to provide proper care and supervision of all offenders under our jurisdiction while assisting, as appropriate, their re-entry into society."

Inmate Appeals staff do this by ensuring that the inmate appeals process is an effective mechanism by which inmates can find efficient and fair resolution to their legitimate concerns and a process by which effective correctional management is enhanced.

Policy Management Staff coordinate, develop, and manage the approval and distribution of all procedures and forms that provide sound guidelines for staff, inmates and the public to ensure these documents comply with applicable federal, state, and local statutes, administrative rules, enforced consent decrees, case law, and American Correctional Association standards. The section also ensures that procedures and forms are available to department employees.
