The Florida Department of Corrections is considering changes to its current rules (Florida Administrative Code Chapters 33-104.001 and 33-104.203) regarding news media access (visits and interviews) to prison inmates and inmates under sentence of death. Chapter 33-104.001 was last amended in 1985 and Chapter 33-104.203 was last amended in 1980.
We expect to publish a notice of rule development on or about October 1. After publication of the notice, affected persons may submit their comments via e-mail or in writing to the department's public affairs office, 2601 Blair Stone Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32399. We encourage you to list your name, news media affiliation (if any) and address, although you are not required to do so. Any comments that are submitted become public record under state law. We will also schedule a date for a rule development workshop, which affected persons may attend.
