Inmate Dies at
Wakulla Correctional Institution

TALLAHASSEE - Inmate Kevin J. Bacon (DC# R06570) died Friday morning at Wakulla Correctional Institution in Crawfordville.

Prison staff found Bacon unresponsive in his cell at 5:50 am. Prison medical staff responded and began CPR until emergency medical personnel arrived at 6:45 am. Bacon was pronounced dead at the prison at 6:59 am.

While it does not appear that foul play was involved, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is working with the Department of Corrections to investigate Bacon's death. An autopsy will be conducted.

Bacon was serving a sentence of 4 years and 11 months for trafficking in cocaine in Pinellas County.
