Public Hearing Postponed Policy Analysis to Continue
TALLAHASSEE - Due to recent public interest and inquiries, the Florida Department of Corrections has decided to continue its review of the proposed new policy for Death Row inmates, including the issue of non-contact visitation. This includes continuing our analysis of other states' policies and trends and additional consultation with experts and authorities on the subject.
Therefore, the department has decided to indefinitely postpone its public hearing on the policy that was scheduled for July 25 in Tallahassee. The current policy that governs the administration of Death Row inmates remains in effect at this time.
