Message from Secretary Moore
to All Employees

After much soul searching, I have applied for the position of Executive Director for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. I have said and continue to say that the employees at the Florida Department of Corrections are some of the finest people with whom I have ever worked, which made this decision even more difficult.

Although we are very happy in Florida, I love the employees that we work with, and I thoroughly enjoy my job, our children, grandchildren and elderly parents all live in Texas.

Governor Bush has been gracious to allow me to participate in this process and I am truly thankful. This shows the Governor's understanding of the importance of family and his dedication to family values.
