Subject: Homicide Cleared with use of your website
To whom it may concern,
I am Det. William Martin with the Kansas City, Missouri Police and would
inform whoever maintains your website that with the use of your supervised
offender list I was able to immediately identify a suspect in a 1999 murder
which occurred in our city. This killer was EDWARD COOPER and was using the
assumed name of KEVIN LAIRD and has been living in Florida ever since the
time of the murder.
On 6-5-2001, the suspect was apprehended by the Florida Fugitive Task Force
on an outstanding PV under LAIRD and the murder II warrant.
Thank you for having such a detailed offender webpage that not only provided
the people who are currently in custody, but just about everyone that has
been through the system along with their photograph. This was a great help
and the photograph was only a few months old and was used to compare against
the killers mugshot, which matched.
I wish all states had a similar website with as much detailed information
because it has helped me located two murder suspect now, one being Cooper
and another last year who was in Minnesota Department of Corrections for an
unrelated double murder, who have a very similar website.
