Aileen Wuornos was executed this morning by lethal injection at Florida State Prison. She was pronounced dead at 9:47 a.m. The death sentence was carried out in a professional and humane manner. The body was transported to the Alachua County Medical Examiner's office, where an autopsy will be conducted.
