Secretary Moore to Visit
Ocala Front Porch Community

On Wednesday, July 24, 3:00 p.m., E. D. Croskey Recreation Center, 1510 N.W. 4th Street, Ocala, Department of Corrections Secretary Michael Moore will meet with Ocala Front Porch Community members. He will discuss services the department can provide to help residents reach their Front Porch goals. Secretary Moore will then take a brief tour of the Ocala Front Porch area, following which he will take questions.

Front Porch Florida is a program initiated by Governor Bush to help urban Floridians take back their neighborhoods. Through Front Porch Florida, citizens seek to improve schools, reduce crime, increase economic opportunities and provide adequate infrastructure and affordable housing opportunities. In doing so, it will create environments that foster strong families and vital communities.

The West Ocala Front Porch Neighborhood has been involved in developing a neighborhood housing strategy; organized five neighborhood clean-ups; participated in the Red Ribbon Anti-Drug Campaign; and organized a program to help beautify the homes of its senior residents.
