The Florida Department of Corrections will be kicking off a statewide Victim Notification System Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at the Florida Sheriff's Association Summer Conference in West Palm Beach.

The victim notification system, or VINE, proactively notifies crime victims of an inmate's location, transfer, escape, death, or release from jail or prison.

Representatives from the Department of Corrections, multiple Florida Sheriff's and crime victims will be available to talk about the VINE system.
