Department to Revise Mission
Greater emphasis to be placed on re-entry and recidivism reduction
Media are invited to attend a briefing during which Secretary McDonough will announce a revised mission for the Department. The central change in the mission will concern an enhanced emphasis on preparing offenders to return to society, thereby reducing recidivism and lowering crime rates.
