Key Personnel Changes at the Florida Department of Corrections

Tallahassee – As a result of the Secretary’s review of the alleged incident of inmate abuse at Hendry Correctional Institution, the following actions in regard to senior leadership are directed:

• Assistant Warden Vickie E. Langford from Hendry CI, has been promoted to Warden of Hendry CI;
• Colonel James Blackwood, from Okeechobee CI, has been promoted to Assistant Warden at Hendry CI;
• Colonel John Palmer, from Santa Rosa CI, has been promoted to Assistant Warden at Hendry CI;

Also:

• Warden Carol Starling of Hendry CI has been relieved of command, pending reassignment;
• Assistant Warden Jim Tridico of Hendry CI has been relieved of command, pending reassignment;
• Colonel William Avant from Hendry CI has been terminated.
