Escaped Inmate Dmitri Sinilnikov
Minimum custody Florida inmate Dmitri Sinilnikov, 54, walked away from an outside work assignment in the Department of Transportation yard in Sarasota on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 around 7:55 am.
He was serving a 15 year sentence for Fraudulent Use of Personal Identification, Computer Fraud (eight counts) and five counts of Offenses against Computer Users. Sinilnikov, who is from Russia, is a naturalized citizen. He was incarcerated at Arcadia Road Prison. Click here for additional information.
Sinilnikov is considered to be a sophisticated computer hacker, with a penchant for obtaining credit card numbers and other personal information using software that records keystrokes. His crimes generally target college campus computers and software. He has tampered with computers and/or recorded keystrokes at colleges or universities in Florida, Arizona, and California in the past. He also has ties to the Miami area and Texas. He has been arrested at least twice presenting stolen identification as his own.
