Miami Resource Fair at Peaceful Zion Missionary Baptist Church
On Friday, September 25, 2009, the Florida Department of Corrections along with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office and the Miami Dade Re-entry Task Force will be hosting a Resource Fair at the Peaceful Zion Missionary Baptist Church located at 2400 N.W. 68th Street from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The purpose of the Resource Fair is to assist those on supervision with their re-entry into society by helping them find jobs and housing, and to connect them to local resources for health care, education, etc. While the Resource Fair is focused on assisting citizens on state probation in Dade County, the general public is encouraged to attend.
Local businesses, health care providers, educational institutions and community resource organizations will be in attendance or will have applications available.
The Department of Corrections currently supervises more than 121,000 people on supervision statewide.
There will be video and audio opportunities for reporters as well as interviews with probation officials.
