Singletary Dedication
Nov. 17, 2010, 9:15 a.m.
Wakulla Training Academy, Crawfordville, FL
On November 17, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. at Wakulla Training Academy in Crawfordville, the Department of Corrections will be dedicating the Florida Corrections Academy near Wakulla CI and renaming it the Harry K. Singletary, Jr., Academy. During the ceremony, Secretary McNeil will present a check to the National Director for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) in Mr. Singletary’s memory. The amount on the check represents all the Department’s employee fundraisers that took place recently during the LLS’s “Light the Night Walk” Campaign. Department employees across the state volunteered their time to coordinate a variety of fundraising events in an effort to raise money and increase awareness of the disease that afflicted former Secretary Singletary.
