Reception and Medical Center’s K-9 Team Captures Suspect
Lake Butler – On October 19, 2011 a Reception and Medical Center’s (RMC) K-9 team was activated at the request of the Union County Sheriff’s Office to track a suspect involved in an armed robbery in Lake Butler.
Lieutenant B. Dukes, Sergeant A. Johnson, and Officer W. Gaultney, along with K-9 Patriot responded to the scene at Lake Butler Car Wash on 7th Avenue. Upon arrival, the team was briefed by the Sheriff’s Department that a male subject reportedly robbed a female at gunpoint.
The subject fled the area heading south-west. K-9 Patriot and the team established a track which ended at a rear entrance door of a residence. Police made contact with a person inside the home and determined the subject was in the home. The subject was taken into custody without incident.
“I am proud of the RMC K-9 team and thank them for their outstanding effort,” said RMC Warden Brian Riedl. “Correctional officers work tirelessly each day to protect the public.”
