Wakulla Correctional Institution Warden Ricky Dixon and Assistant Warden James Coker will be presenting a sampling of the 14,000 books collected for First Lady Ann Scott’s book drive to her at the Governor’s Mansion. Correctional Officers from Wakulla CI will also be in attendance, including Wakulla CI Correctional Officer Rhonda Hicks, who coauthored a children’s book entitled “Mr. Metals and the Pull of the Magnet” that she will be presenting to the First Lady.

What:

Department of Corrections employees collected 14,000 books statewide for the First Lady’s 2^nd Annual Holiday Book Drive. The books will be given to children’s charities and adult literacy programs across the state, such as Adult and Family Literacy Centers, Boys and Girls Clubs, and the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch.
