Hamilton County Sheriff's Office donates vehicle to Hamilton Correctional Institution
On Friday March 9, 2012, Hamilton Correctional Institution Warden John Palmer accepted the keys to a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria from Hamilton County Sheriff Harold Reid. The vehicle was donated to the institution to assist the institution with their mission of public safety and to improve upon the institution’s existing fleet.
“It’s in good shape and we’re very grateful for the donation,” said Warden Palmer. The vehicle will be utilized to assist general transportation, perimeter security and outside escort duties.
The institution is fortunate to enjoy a relationship with Sheriff Reid and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office that includes a mutual aid agreement where Hamilton Correctional Institution provides K-9 assistance to local law enforcement with K-9 tracking of fleeing suspects when called upon. From July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, Hamilton Correctional Institution responded to 52 calls for assistance in the local community with 27 captures.
Hamilton Correctional Institution is proud to be an active member of the local law enforcement community and Sheriff Reid’s donation will certainly assist us with our ability to fulfill our public safety mission.
