Lunch to Follow, on Thursday, April 05, 2012

Union County:
Community leaders and members of the news media are invited to a Community Advisory Board Facility Tour and Luncheon of the Reception and Medical Center (RMC) that is sure to offer insights into the mission and goals of Florida's largest state agency.

When:
Thursday, April 5, 2012. Participants have been asked to meet at the RMC Training Building at 9:00 AM.  From there, the group will tour the compound and then all will return to the Training Building to conclude with a meeting and lunch.

Purpose:
This event is intended to bring community leaders together, to give them a greater understanding of the prison system while providing them with an overview of the RMC facility and its operations.  During lunch, information will be provided highlighting how the facility operates. Presenters will focus on RMC’s extensive efforts to prepare inmates educationally, socially and vocationally for re-entry into society, explaining how the Department uses risk-reduction strategies to reduce recidivism.
